An Excellent opportunity for a Mechanical Engineer to join the Artus team where you will be regarded as a Technical specialist, developing the product range and providing technical support to the sales team in the early stages of a new lead.

Do you have experience working in the Mechanical Building Services industry? Do you have an intricate knowledge of HVAC products and their applications? Are you looking to join a rapidly expanding, exciting company?

Artus has designed and developed a patent-protected, specialist product that is on track to revolutionise the way buildings are cooled and heated. We aim to reduce energy consumption and carbon emissions and lead positive change within the HVAC industry. Significant sales growth is planned for the next five years targeting commercial, residential and high-precision environments.

Responsibilities

We are looking for an enthusiastic engineer with good design, technical and software skills who enjoys working collaboratively in a growing team, who will:

    • support the sales team with a rapid turn round of thorough answers to technical queries, energy modelling and example drawing layouts.
    • support the development team with providing briefs, investigating new products and market research.

Typical sales team support tasks:

    • Grow deep knowledge of current Artus unit capabilities including Siemens controller.
    • Knowledge of customer specific options available.
    • Technical notes to support sales questions.
    • Maintenance and updating of acoustic ready reckoner.
    • Project specific energy calculations, for example using Part L DSM, EPC and NABERS methodology.
    • Calculation of operational and embodied energy.
    • Drawing example layouts of Artus units on building plans using Bluebeam or similar.

Typical product development tasks:

    • Review/refine product development briefs.
    • Updating of technical literature.
    • Research latest updates and trends on key components for example EBM fans, condensate pumps, valves.
    • Research components for new products for example filters, humidifiers.
    • Market research in fields impacted by new products.

Skills

    • Design and development of Building Services systems.
    • Proven understanding of building services and environmental design principles of heating, chilled water, and ventilation systems.
    • Assisting with the production of drawings, reports and specifications. Ideally be proficient with CAD or BIM modelling using REVIT.
    • Experience of specifying equipment to comply with building regulation and similar industry standards and regulations.
    • At least 5 years of proven experience in a similar role.
    • English language.

Qualifications

Either a technical qualification (preferably in mechanical engineering) to degree level or HNC/HND with extensive experience.
